I’m Mad Mark. I am currently a Safety Engineer for NASA and have worked in the environmental health & safety field for many years. My job can be stressful sometimes, and I needed to find an outlet to relax and explore my creative side.
One day I decided to make small boxes out of balsa wood. Balsa is relatively soft, but is the strongest wood per mass and only requires basic hand tools to work with. I gave the boxes out as presents to friends and family along with handcrafted bars of soap that I also produced around the same time. After a while, I started to experiment with making leather goods. Before I knew it, my house started overflowing with all of my creations. It was then that I decided to sell my work. I have now expanded my media to include silver jewelry, bath bombs (fizzes), liquid soap and bath salts all of which are handmade by myself.
